Ridley Scott’s eagerly-anticipated Prometheus follow up Alien: Covenant finally gets to cinemas next week and in the run-up, twentieth Century Fox has released a new featurette that centres on Katherine Waterston’s protagonist Daniels. (Who, despite being one badass female in space, is not really a carbon-copy of Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley, the Fantastic Monsters actor has previously stated).

The clip sees Waterston’s Daniels wasting time on the titular spacecraft; dreaming, cooking and playing greeting cards with her fellow staff members. Well, before a neomorph makes its way onto the ship, things start going from bad to worse and the lady has to boost, that is.

Fortunately, she appears to be one tough cookie and the sneak peek proves by saying “she will not likely go quietly. ” Offered that the footage organisations totally on Daniels, it appears the ‘she’ is in mention of the her. However, any hardcore Noncitizen fan knows that xenomorphs are particularly when they’re of the female salesmanship, so it could well indicate the extraterrestrial instead.

Waterston, 37, previously teased details about her character to Collider, explaining: “She’s the primary terraformist on this colonization mission, so she’s fundamentally a place gardener. She’s an impressive woman, and she actually is smart and capable and everything, but she’s simply a member of the staff.

“She’s not a soldier or anything. It’s that the circumstances push her into a very sudden kind of combat, and she just happens to be one of those people, as it happens, that when push comes to shove, she’s received a great deal of strength and confidence. It can certainly not something she is aware about herself. ”
